Geek Politics, 2008

Well not really geek politics, but I liked the sound of that.  It’s been way too long since my last update.  I may have mentioned b4 that work was kicking my butt… well it’s still kicking!

However I do think it’s important to weigh in on the upcoming election.  First:  VOTE NO ON PROP 8 (California voters).  Our state constitution, for the first time ever, would be amended to deny rights to a group of people.  It’s never happened before, and shouldn’t be happening now.   Also, people should be able to love, marry, and protect those they love. And marriage between “a man and a woman” isn’t the only way they should be accomplished.  Take a look at this video:

Also, I will be voting for Barack Obama.  And not just because he is the Democratic candidate, nor because he is a mixed race African-American (I am pretty much a lifelong Democrat and also African-American).  In fact I was an avid Hillary supporter.  But that was not meant to be.  But even if I had wanted to vote for McCain, the choice of “dumbass” Sarah Palin for VP is enough to guarantee that I would never vote for her to be that close to the presidency.

As for McCain, he has become about as much of a curmudgeon as he could possibly become… and will say, do, or attack Obama in any way he can to get to the White House.  Maybe if he has spent as much time having a vision for the country as he did talking about “Joe the fake plumber”, he’d be in better shape now!  Take a look at the article link on Palin, and the video of Muslim McCain supporters (yeah kinda like gay Republicans) confronting anti-Muslim McCain supporters:

But honestly, the most important thing is to just go out and vote.  People died so I would have the right to vote, so I appreciate and exercise that right everytime I can.  So please let your voice be heard next Tuesday.  And if it’s for a NO on Prop 8/YES for Barack Obama, so much the better! 😉
Good night.
