{"id":15,"date":"2008-08-29T17:04:57","date_gmt":"2008-08-30T01:04:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kevware.wordpress.com\/?p=40"},"modified":"2008-08-29T17:04:57","modified_gmt":"2008-08-30T01:04:57","slug":"bread-crumbs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kevware.com\/geek\/bread-crumbs\/","title":{"rendered":"Bread Crumbs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A simple question:\u00a0 to add a bread crumb trail or NOT to add a bread crumb trail?<\/p>\n<p>I have been experimenting with different dynamic versions of bread crumb trail navigation scripts to add to the top of my pages.\u00a0 It&#8217;s always seemed to me that it&#8217;s a good idea to let people know where they are as they navigate through a website.\u00a0 There are two ways to do this.\u00a0 One way is to have &#8220;history&#8221; bread crumbs that allow a user to see their path history to the current page.\u00a0 The other method is to show the location of the current page with respect to its&#8217; position in the directory structure, starting from &#8220;Home&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve spent a pretty good amount of time the past few days looking at various options using both PHP and Javascript.\u00a0 And after all of that work it comes down to the question of &#8220;Do I really need this anyway?&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Your thoughts?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A simple question:\u00a0 to add a bread crumb trail or NOT to add a bread crumb trail?
